What Is a YEK-G Certificate? Issuance, Transfer, Redemption and Disclosure
YEK-G is an electronic certificate system used to track and substantiate that a specified amount of consumed electricity was generated from renewable sources. The certificate is not the physical electricity flow; it records the environmental attribute of generation.
What does one certificate represent?
A certificate carrying source attributes is issued for each eligible 1 MWh generated by a registered renewable facility. Generation data and facility registration provide traceability to origin.
Transfer and redemption
A certificate can be transferred between market participants. Redemption when making a consumption claim prevents the same attribute from being reused, and period and volume should be matched to consumption data.
Correct use in reporting
Retain the YEK-G record together with consumption volume, reporting period and the carbon-accounting method used. Certificate ownership alone does not replace evidence for energy-efficiency or physical emissions-reduction claims.
